The eGovernment Authority and Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority launch the “Digital Academy” in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah

The eGovernment Authority hosted the launch event of the Digital Academy platform in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, in the presence of different representatives of local government authorities in the Emirate, in cooperation with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority.

The academy is considered a common national initiative within digital governments targeting employees working in fields related to digital transformation and aims to empower individuals with the required skills and capacities to reinforce the UAE’s Pioneering in applying comprehensive digital transformation.

The eGovernment Authority shall coordinate the digital academy project within government authorities in Ras Al Khaimah, in terms of identifying the needed training requirements to drive digital transformation process, to prepare trainees for developed programs, increase participation between government authorities, and control interaction, challenges and risks to ensure prosperous realization of the project’s objectives

His Excellency Eng. Ahmed bin Said Al Sayyah, Director General of the eGovernment Authority, said that “the academy represents a part of Ras Al Khaimah government strategy which is established on keeping up with digital transformation requirements, enhancing the capabilities of government employees working in the technical field, providing them with the necessary skills to develop their practical capabilities, and providing training programs as per their needs”.

Mr. Said expressed his desire that the academy shall help in empowering employees with digital skills and improving the quality of customized and featured scientific training courses that enhance the digital transformation of Ras Al Khaimah government. In addition, he expressed his hope to apply the best global practices in information technology, in order to drive the technical institutional performance.

His Excellency Eng. Mohammed Al Khamis, Deputy Director General of Information and Digital Government Sector at Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, declared: “We are pleased to cooperate with the eGovernment Authority in Ras Al Khaimah in the Digital Academy project, which keeps pace with most updated developments in the field of skills development and empowering working teams to contribute effectively to creating the digital future thanks to its new form and with its modern vision”.

Al Khamis added: “Based on the achievements we have realized together over the previous ten years, and the great efforts made by the joint work teams, we are confident that a great impact for this project shall affect the institutional work in terms of developing the skills of the digital future, and speeding up comprehensive digital transformation in our beloved country, to reinforce its competitiveness and pioneering position at the global level.”

It is worth mentioning that the Digital Academy is a project which was applied in all the Emirates of the country, and the project represents a strategic goal that the digital government of the UAE aimed to realize. This move represents an important transformation towards upgrading the skills of employees of government authorities and institutions in the field of technology and realizing the common visions of digital transformation.
