The Electronic Government Authority of Ras Al Khaimah has commendably participated in the 34th edition of the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) 2014. The premier event, running at the Dubai World Trade Centre on October 12-16, brings together over 100,000 leading information and communication technology professionals from 150 countries and 3,700 exhibiting companies from 61 countries to share transformational developments across the show’s four knowledge themes: Smart, Cloud, Big Data and Mobility. Eng. Ahmed bin Saeed Al Sayah, General Manager of the Authority, said this is the first time for the RAK e-Government Authority, since its inception in 2004, to participate in the five-day event, which is one of the most salient channels and platforms, to showcase its latest achievements. “The RAK e-Government Authority, based on the aspirations of His Highness Shaikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and Member of the Supreme Council, to convert RAK society into an online community of all its aspects, is dedicated to boost government services for the strategic partners involved in the process of development, and highlight the elements needed for a successful transformation of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah into a smart government.” The RAK e-Government Authority, since 2010, has introduced an outstanding application for its strategic plan in a bid to provide government services through a variety of channels, he added. “These span infrastructure services, along with the procedures and applications related to customers and technology, and providing services via several channels including web portal, electronic and mobile services.” These are added to performance appraisal rating scales that help provide an inclusive vision for supreme leadership to competently take smart decisions based on data and analyses derived from updated reports and statistics, Al Sayyah pinpointed.
